Jim is an architect who has had a unique career leading him to starting his own architecture practice. After graduating from Vermont Technical College, he worked for a structural engineer, then went to work for a small construction company, learning carpentry, bidding, estimation, and project management. During this time Jim also worked part time for a mechanical engineer. Jim went to work at Truex DeGroot Cullins, for 7 1/2 years, working his way from draftsperson to project manager and obtaining his Vermont Architecture license. Then he went to Saint Michael’s College as the Associate Director of Facilities – College Architect. after 13 years and many great projects, Jim was promoted to Director of Facilities/College Architect. After Saint Mike’s Jim spent 2 1/2 years in a couple of positions before deciding to open his own practice.
This unique experience allows Jim to bring knowledge and insight to projects that are hard to match. whether it’s helping a homeowner navigate the process of design and construction or a commercial project, You and your project with be better off for his involvement.
